IT advance a lot in Clustering and after that advanced in individual power and after that in Virtualization, but if we mix Clustering+Virtualization and use a distributed storage system (such as AFS) to share the Desktops Hard Disks. I called the idea VDCenter (sorry this article I worte is in spanish http://wiki.sesolibre.com/index.php?title=VDCenter but if requested I could translate it).
The idea came after seing 200 call center computers working at 5% of their capacity and wasting electricity as installed capacity.
